Q: What is the difference between a Notary Public (NP) and a China- Appointed Attesting Officer (CAAO)?
A NP handles documents for international use (excluding Mainland China) while a CAAO handles documents specifically for use in Mainland China.
Q: What is the processing time and fee for legalization by apostille by the High Court of Hong Kong?
It takes about 2–3 working days and the fee is HK$125 per apostille.
Q: What is the difference between apostille and consular legalization?
Legalization by apostille is acceptable by member countries and cities of the Hague Convention;
Consular legalization will usually be additionally required by countries which are not members of the Hague Convention.
